Abstract:
Bertha Lenel begins her recollections by giving a brief family history, whose beginnings she traces back to the mid 1600s. In the early 1800s, at the time her grandparents were born, more detailed information becomes available. The bulk of the memoir consists of a detailed description of Bertha Lenel's internment in Gurs.
Abstract:
Also available are a typed transcript by John Kallier and a handwritten English translation by Hilde Waring.
