Abstract:
"I think Kabbalah is very punk rock." - Madonna Why does Madonna appear in her video "Die Another Day" with a tattoo in Hebrew letters? Why does she name the little girl in her children̷s book "Binah"? Why does an organization which is based upon Jewish mysticism have Madonna, a Catholic, as its most famous student? Boaz Huss, a scholar on the Kabbalah at the Ben Gurion University in Israel analyses the practices of the obscure Kabbalah Centre and comes to some starling conclusions.
