Abstract:
This article examines the communication between human being and God in the Jewish philosophy of the German-Jewish philosopher, Franz Rosenzweig (1886–1929). It observes Rosenzweig’s Jewish philosophy in light of communication theories and wishes to use the theoretical wealth of this relatively new discipline—communication—in order to deepen the philosophical discussion. The encounter described in this article is not an encounter that takes place in Rosenzweig’s writings, but rather an attempt to bring Rosenzweig into dialogue with modern theories of communication. This new perspective can enrich our view of philosophy of religion and to offer a new perception of communication.
