Abstract:
Examines the strengths and weaknesses of Arendt's political philosophy in general, and her treatment of the Holocaust in particular. Her background, and the centrality of the Eichmann trial in her later thought, are emphasized. Notes her comparison of Eichmann and the Jewish Councils as examples of those who should have ignored orders and followed their consciences.
