Abstract: Preliminary material -- THE MISHNAH AND ARISTOTLE'S NATURAL HISTORY -- THE MISHNAH AND ARISTOTLE'S ECONOMICS -- THE MISHNAH AND ARISTOTLE'S POLITICS -- INDEX.
Abstract: The Mishnah - the second-century law code that lays the foundation, after Scripture, of normative Judaism - encompasses all subjects that pertain to the life of the Jewish nation and as such provides a systematic basis for Israel's social order and world view. Any social program has its own politics, economics, and philosophy which together define a given social entity rather than any other. And any system defining the structure of a society strives to establish a set of harmonised and coherent fundamental principles, viewpoints and attitudes in treating the components of its theory of the community. It has been long shown that the Mishnah is such a well-composed theory of world-construction. It is demonstrated here how its specific message concerning the politics and economics that define the social order recapitulate those of Aristotle. Abstract: Martin Heidegger is one of the most important thinkers of the twentieth century. His influence is very significant in many areas: Western culture, modern philosophy, existentialism, postmodernism, cultural criticism, literary theory, aesthetics, theology and psychotherapy. The book introduces his main philosophy. There is discussion of the major issues that concerned him in his numerous writings, such as: man, language, art, being, history, technology and humanism. The information is introduced from a critical point of view in order to allow readers who are not familiar with his doctrine to connect to it and understand it. The readers who do know the doctrine will be able to examine it from a different angle, which emphasizes the thematic unity and its program. Heidegger's connections with the Nazi regime is a subject that requires detailed attention in a book that introduces the main points of his philosophy in Hebrew. Heidegger's contact with the Nazi regime and the historical-philosophical ideology that guided his actions are described in an appendix

Abstract: Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) is the central figure in modern philosophy. He synthesized early modern rationalism and empiricism, set the terms for much of nineteenth and twentieth century philosophy, and continues to exercise a significant influence today in metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, political philosophy, aesthetics, and other fields. The fundamental idea of Kant's “critical philosophy” — especially in his three Critiques: the Critique of Pure Reason (1781, 1787), the Critique of Practical Reason (1788), and the Critique of the Power of Judgment (1790) — is human autonomy. He argues that the human understanding is the source of the general laws of nature that structure all our experience; and that human reason gives itself the moral law, which is our basis for belief in God, freedom, and immortality. Therefore, scientific knowledge, morality, and religious belief are mutually consistent and secure because they all rest on the same foundation of human autonomy, which is also the final end of nature according to the teleological worldview of reflecting judgment that Kant introduces to unify the theoretical and practical parts of his philosophical system. The book was originally published in English by Princeton University Press
