Abstract:
Simon Spier started to write his memoirs in Bad Homburg in 1931 and continued in Haifa in 1941. The memoirs are followed by a short obituary, written in Haifa in 1951.

Childhood in rural Jewish atmosphere of Zwesten; early death of father; education as teacher; travels in various parts of Germany; marriage to brother's sister-in-law from Weiden (Bavaria); domestic life of Spier, Wilmersdoerfer families in Wesel, Gambach (Hesse), Hoechst (Hesse), Weiden and Nabburg (Bavaria); move to Homburg (Hesse); visit of Belzer Rebbe in Homburg; emigration and life in Palestine.
