He discusses his youth and education, a business apprenticeship in Stuttgart, and his eventual move to Berlin where he worked in the textile business. In Berlin he married and had children. He describes the atmosphere of Nazism and its effect on the Jewish community of Berlin, on his family's emigration to Palestine in 1936, and the further immigration the family undertook to the United States in 1947, and on his family life and successful business in New York.
