Abstract:
Two medieval translations of the Gospels from the Vulgate into Catalan have survived: the one included in the 'Fourteenth century Bible' and the 'Palau' Gospels (first half of the fifteenth century). The first was chosen as the original of the oldest extant translation of the four Gospels into Hebrew, included in a manuscript of the Vatican Library of the late fifteenth century (Vat. ebr. 100), written by a Jew who wrote for a Jewish audience.
