Abstract: A brief biography of Rabbi Yehezkel Lewin (1897-1941), focusing on his prewar activities. During the German occupation of Lvov, Metropolitan Sheptytskyi proposed to hide Lewin, but Lewin refused - he wanted to stay with his community. In July 1941 Lewin was shot by the Nazis.
