Abstract:
Examines the present state of research on the subject of the Jewish minority in the kingdom of Valencia up to 1492. States that until not long ago there were a few studies which dealt mainly with Vincent Ferrer's sermons and the 1391 pogroms, and reflected the stereotype of the Jew as alien, deicide, and usurer. In recent years, there is a growing interest in the history of the Jews in Valencia, expressed in studies which analyze the complexities of the Converso experience, the persecutions of the Inquisition, the expulsion of 1492, and other aspects of Jewish life.
