Abstract:
In the post-World War II period, the Argentinian government's immigration policy was to refuse entry to Jewish Holocaust survivors, whereas Ukrainians, Croats, and other East Europeans (including Nazi collaborators) were accepted. Legal restrictions regarding immigration were strictly enforced by government officials, such as Santiago Peralta, who prevented the entry of Jews by means of discriminatory administrative measures, refusing even to recognize visas granted by Argentinian consulates abroad.
