Abstract:
Deplores the tendency of Ukrainian historiography in the 1990s-2000s to deny the collaboration of the Organization of the Ukrainian Nationalists and of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army in the Nazi genocide of Jews, and to promote the myth that Jews cooperated with the UIA in its struggle against the Soviets for an independent Ukraine. Many facts demonstrate that eliminationist antisemitism was a guiding principle of the OUN and UIA, and that these organizations acted independently of the Germans when they killed Jews. A few Jews who served the UIA as medical personnel did so under coercion, and some of them defected to the Soviets. Brings examples of the murder of Jews by the UIA. Notes that the accusation of collaboration with the Nazis in the murder of Jews is against the Ukrainian nationalist organizations, but not the Ukrainian people.
