Abstract:
Relates the events of the Holocaust in Shklov (eastern Belarus), based on interviews with survivors and non-Jewish eyewitnesses as well as on a Soviet document compiled after the liberation of the town. Part of the Jews of Shklov and its vicinity were collected in a ghetto in the town, and part in the nearby village Ryzhkovichi. In October 1941 most of them were murdered by the Nazis and their accomplices. Some people were hidden by non-Jews. In all, ca. 6,000 Jews of Shklov were murdered.
