Abstract: Part one of this article quotes reports from 1933, found in the Archiwum Akt Nowych in Warsaw, in which individual examples of persecution of Jews in Germany (mostly Polish citizens) are described in detail. The reports also contain information about the activities of the Polish missions in Berlin in defense of the Jews, e.g. intervention with the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Part two of the article (published in BŻIH 147-148) contains reports regarding the Germans' preparations for the boycott of Jewish businesses in Germany on 1 April 1933, with emphasis on the situation of the Jewish Polish citizens and the intervention of the Polish diplomatic services in their defense. Abstract: Discusses antisemitism and acts of legal discrimination against Jews in Germany from 1933-1941. The Nazi measures were designed to gradually eliminate Jews from public life, while giving the impression of following "legal" procedure. Focuses on the Silesian provinces. In Upper Silesia, anti-Jewish laws were not introduced so long as the Silesian Convention, signed in Geneva in 1922 (which annexed this province to Poland), was binding - that is, until 15 July 1937. Describes the mass expulsion of Polish Jews from Germany in 1938, the events leading to the "Kristallnacht" pogrom, the pogrom in Breslau (Wrocław), and the deportations of Jews, especially from Breslau and its surroundings, from spring 1941.
