Abstract:
Describes two forms of antisemitism in Poland: "traditional" - whose main element has a religious background, related to the perception of the Jews as Christ-killers - and "modern" antisemitism. Research on antisemitism conducted in Poland in 1992-93 shows that "modern" antisemitism, dominated by a belief in Jewish power in the Polish economy, politics, and culture, is stronger today than the "traditional" form. Analyzes various determinants of antisemitic attitudes, such as education, religiosity, age, and family traditions.
Note:
On the structure and determinants of antisemitic attitudes in present-day Poland.
