Abstract:
Describes aid given to Jews by Catholic clergy in Poland. A recent investigation of documents shows that the Jews were helped by 20 bishops (of the Roman, Greek, and Armenian Churches), and by 319 priests in 16 different dioceses, as well as by monks and nuns, especially by the latter in their convents. 769 members of the clergy, in 389 Church institutions, functioning in 273 towns and villages, helped Jews. Contends that these activities saved the lives of over 100,000 Jews.
