Abstract:
Reconstructs the circumstances of the death of a few dozen Jews who escaped from the camp in Lipowa Street in Lublin at the end of 1942. The escapees had been soldiers in the Polish Army in September 1939. The case was the subject of heated debate among Polish historians who, informed by political considerations, blamed different Polish underground groups. Based on materials from postwar investigations and from trials of persons connected with the nationalist underground in the Kraśnik district, states that the perpetrators were from a detachment of the Narodowa Organizacja Wojskowa-Armia Narodowa which was set up near Kraśnik and then incorporated into the Narodowe Siły Zbrojne.
