Abstract:
Originally published in French as "Les chambres à gaz, incroyable vérité historique" (source not given). Killing by gas was first used in Germany, in the Nazi euthanasia campaign, in which the incurable sick and "asocial" persons were liquidated, including Jews. The campaign was halted in August 1941 after wide public protest. At the same time, Einsatzgruppen were carrying out mass murders of communists and Jews on the Eastern front. The demand for rapid, large-scale murder methods led to the building of the extermination camps with gas chambers. Discusses the extent of knowledge of these facts by the German people, the Allies, and the Vatican, and the reactions of the Western press and governments, characterized by skepticism. Even today, the inconceivable nature of the facts is exploited by revisionists to deny the existence of the gas chambers.
