Abstract:
A paper presented at an international conference held at the École Normale Supérieur, Paris, June 1992. Discusses contemporary post-communist societies, mainly in Russia, Romania, and Hungary, and their shift to the right. Examines the recent tendencies of revisionists to misrepresent the Holocaust. States that the denial of the Holocaust may become an obstacle in the development of parliamentary democracy in Eastern Europe. Revisionists accuse Zionists of collaboration with the Nazis, and minimalize the losses of Jews in the Holocaust.
