Abstract:
Briefly discusses the life and works of Imre Ámos, a Hungarian Jewish artist who was born in 1907 in Nagykálló and perished in the Holocaust. From 1940 Amos was periodically recruited into military labor service units; works that were created in this period portray suffering and the apocalypse. Ámos was deported to Germany in summer 1944, and died in a Nazi camp.
