Abstract: 194 Jews of the Hungarian military labor unit no. 101/322 were bestially killed at the train station of Kiskunhalas on 11 October 1944 by SS soldiers, helped by the Hungarian officers. The trials of the accused war criminals before the Peoples' Tribunal started in January 1946 and lasted until October 1947, when the leaders of the forced labor unit, Lipót Vorsatz, Gustav Schmidt, Imre Szabó, and Ferenc Lengyel, were condemned to penal servitude for various durations. An additional accused, József Horváth, leader of forced labor unit 101/63, who took part in the preparations for this mass murder, was condemned to life-long penal servitude in May 1947.
