Abstract:
Discusses Hitler's antisemitism and opposes the view that Hitler merely used antisemitism as a unifying force for propaganda purposes. Criticizes historians who describe the persecution of the Jews as occurring parallel to but separate from other events during the Nazi regime; states that, in fact, they were closely related. Contends that the attack against the USSR and the Final Solution were decided upon on the same day, 22 June 1941. The Germany army's advance served as a cover for the mass murder of the Jews. Elimination of the "Jewish Bolshevik leadership" and their "biological roots" (i.e. European Jewry) were a stated war aim of Germany. Concludes that there had been a long-term psychological preparation for both of the ideological aspects of the war - the fight for "Lebensraum" and the "Final Solution".
