    Abstract: Thematisiert werden Weimarer Blütezeit jüdischen Sports und dessen Zerschlagung im nationalsozialistischen Deutschland. Der mit zahlreichen Fotos illustrierte Band verbindet die Biografien dreier Leichtathletinnen mit der Geschichte der systematischen Ausgrenzung und Verfolgung jüdischen Lebens während des NS-Regimes. -In der Weimarer Zeit hatte sich der Sport als Motor der Integration und Emanzipation insbesondere jüdischer Frauen erwiesen. Aber schon 1933 dienten die nationalsozialistischen Rassegesetze dazu, um den jüdischen Athletinnen und Athleten den Verbleib in ihren Vereinen mehr und mehr zu erschweren und sie zum Rückzug in jüdische Sportverbände zu zwingen. 1936 waren sie von der Teilnahme an der Olympiade ausgeschlossen. 1938 schließlich wurden auch jüdische Sportvereine verboten, ihr Leitungspersonal verhaftet. Das Buch greift stellvertretend für viele andere das Schicksal dreier jüdischer Spitzenathletinnen heraus und bindet es ein in die Geschichte der systematischen Zerschlagung und Verfolgung jüdischen Lebens unter dem Hakenkreuz.
