Abstract:
The memoir describes the author’s work-service 1935-1936, and his experiences as a soldier with the “2. Panzer-Division (Wehrmacht)”, 1937-1945. Georg Zehnter was part of the annexation of Austria in 1938 (“Anschluss”); he fought in the Balkans; participated in German’s attack on Moscow; fought in the Battle of the Bulge, before finally returning home to Gaukoenigshofen in Bavaria.
