Abstract:
Surveys and quotes from recent declarations of synods of the German Protestant Church after the unification in 1990 concerning the "Jewish question". The declarations underline the co-responsibility of Christians for the Shoah and oppose present-day antisemitism. Concerning the emigration of Russian Jews to Germany, the Protestant Church declared that those who wish to settle in Germany should be accepted without any limits and quotas, and sees in a new Jewish-German encounter a chance for the future.
