Abstract:
The autobiography of Jonas Eichberg, written in June 1867 in Crailsheim, translated by Stella Eichberg Gumble in 1949, describes mainly his upbringing, education, marriage and the development of his children from 1787-1867. He describes in detail the death of his son David, who became an engineer and constructed a railroad bridge in Schaffhausen. The manuscript contains photocopies of a portrait of Jonas & Rachel Eichberg; and the depiction of the Sabbath in front of the synagogue at Fuerth, ca. 1800. Also included is a family tree, reaching 1666-1906.
