Abstract:
Describes the organization Do Czynu! (To Action!) which was based in Katowice in 1928-32. It was founded as a branch of the antisemitic Rozwój Society. Traces the figure of the organization's founder, Alojzy Mach, who was also the chief editor of the bi-weekly "Do Czynu!" Mach's agenda was based on social and economic isolation of the Jews, with a view to their eventual expulsion from Silesia. His main activities were organizing protests against the Jewish presence in Silesia and publishing antisemitic propaganda. States that Mach was really the only activist in the movement. In 1932 his journal ceased publication due to lack of readers. However, other fascist and nationalist-radical journals began to appear. Concludes that antisemitism developed freely in the second half of the 1930s because the government's policies favored antisemitism.
