Abstract:
Describes Luther's translation of the Bible into German and its significance. Inter alia, presents the attitudes of Luther and of other Christian theologians of his time (e.g. Reuchlin, Erasmus) toward Jews and Judaism, and shows in what way it affected his translation. Luther's anti-Judaism is apparent in his "Christianization" of the Old Testament.
