Abstract:
Discusses various theories about the causes of antisemitism (e.g. the Jews as scapegoat, the antagonism of pagans, Christian anti-Judaism, the minority effect). Concludes that rational explanations are insufficient, consequently modern attempts at a solution (assimilation, Zionism, the "Final Solution") have all failed. Concludes that the Jewish people will exist to the end of time, and so will antisemitism. The European anti-Israel rhetoric is a repeat of the antisemitic stereotypes of the past 2,000 years. Suggests that European countries should oppose antisemitism just in order to save their own dignity.
