Abstract:
Jewish polemical texts in France and Spain were intended to help Jews to withstand Christian pressure, to strengthen them in their religion, and to argue against Christian interpretations of the Bible and of the Talmud. Shows that the intensity of the polemic depended on the extent of Christian pressure on the Jews in a particular period and geographical area.
