Discusses different versions and performances of Molière's "The Miser" in the theaters of Eastern Sephardim (i.e. in the Balkans, Greece, and Turkey). Devotes attention, in particular, to how Molière's text was adapted to Sephardic reality in the version entitled "Historia de Binyamín," which was published in Thessalonike in 1884.
