Abstract:
Analyzes four antisemitic caricatures published in Danish media in the first decade of the 21st century. The caricatures focus on the Middle East conflict and, using simplistic symbols, make it attractive to sympathize with Palestinians and unattractive to side with Jews. They go beyond mere Israel-critique; by applying traditional anti-Jewish stereotyopes and equating Israel and the Jews with the Nazis, they incite to hatred and fall into the category of antisemitism. The anti-Jewish stereotypes are of a Christian and racist nature.
