Abstract:
Based on documents from the archives of the International Committee of the Red Cross made available to historians in 1990. Concerns Maurice Rossel's visit to Theresienstadt on 23 June 1944, after which he gave a distorted report on what he saw there. In 1944 Himmler gave approval for the ICRC to visit another labor camp. The Nazis prepared a show camp in Auschwitz for the Red Cross. It was liquidated in July 1944, when the ICRC refused to visit the camp.
