Abstract:
Lotte Marcus was asked in 2002 by a friend to look for her passport from Shanghai, which brought back old memories and initiated writing this memoir. Embedded are also 2 photographs. Procedure of obtaining visas, desperate situation in Vienna, relatives deported to Dachau, visit of the daughter of the Chinese diplomat, Feng Shan Ho, who issued visas to Shanghai, China, to save refugees. By looking through her old passport's stamps, she recalls the places she passed on her journey to Shanghai.
