Slonim, according to census, has a population of 11,899 persons, of which 10,450 are Jews. There are a movie theater; two “Konditoreien”; a Russian, a Polish and eight Jewish schools; one municipal and one Jewish hospital; four Jewish cemeteries. Frequent transmission of epidemics (typhus, spotted fever) due to poverty. Founding of soup kitchen; disinfection; sewing roo to repair clothes. Transport of people to have them work in the woods is seen as slavery. Surprising dismissal of Block without explanation.
