German translation of the Hebrew original in a handwritten manuscript by the author’s grandson, Dr. Moritz Landsberger, Rabbi in Liegnitz (today Legnica, Poland), accompanied by a typed transcript.
Abstract:
Salomon Kaliphari (1780-1863) recalls the story of his family reaching back to the 16th century when his ancestors emigrated from Spain to Poland; most of his ancestors lived in the Posen area as merchants and Talmud scholars; one ancestor, Arie Loeb was executed in 1736 as a result of a blood libel.
