Abstract:
The Oneg Shabbat Archive reflects the revolutions in literary forms, historical writings, aesthetics, and in the youth which had evolved in East European Jewish culture in modern times. Focuses on the literary works preserved in this clandestine archive, initiated by Emanuel Ringelblum in the Warsaw ghetto. Analyzes the reflection of life during the Holocaust and reactions to the Holocaust as presented in the Yiddish literary works and journalistic pieces by Joseph Zelikowicz (1897-1944), Peretz Opoczynski (1895-1943), Leib Goldin (1906-1942), Yehoshua Perle (1888-1944), and Rachel Auerbach (1903-1976).
