Abstract:
Rabbinerin Dalia Marx, Professorin am einzigen liberalen Rabbinerseminar in Israel, führt mit ihrem Buch durch das jüdische Jahr. Jedem der 12 jüdischen Monate ist ein Kapitel gewidmet, das in den Charakter des Monats einführt und die in diese Zeit fallenden Feier- und Gedenktage und die damit verbundenen Traditionen und Rituale, aber auch Gebete und Gedichte vorstellt. Das Buch bietet eine Fülle von vertrauten und unbekannten, althergebrachten und modernen Bräuchen und Ritualen, alten und neuen Texten. Marx schöpft aus unterschiedlichen Quellen, schreibt mal persönlich, mal eher sachlich bzw. akademisch und breitet eine Bandbreite jüdischer Traditionen aus, die zeigen, wie unterschiedlich Jüdinnen und Juden den Jahreskreis begehen, je nach Herkunft, religiöser Strömung, individuellen Bedürfnissen u.a. - Ein übersichtlich gestaltetes, anschaulich geschriebenes Lese- und Handbuch, empfehlenswert für Leser*innen, die mit dem Judentum vertraut sind und ihr Wissen zum jüdischen Jahreszyklus gern erweitern und Anregung für die Gestaltung von Feiertagen erhalten möchten.
