Abstract: Stern writes about his journey to Theresienstadt, how he had to sign an official document, which authorized the confiscation of his belongings. He describes the concentration camp: the daily life, how the staff prepared it for the visit of international commissions (e. g., a Danish commission), the funerals, the hospitals, the state of sanitation, the barter trade, the means of transportation, the “entertainment”, etc. In particular he describes November 10th 1943, when all inmates had to stay outside without any food or relief. Finally he describes his horror observing groups of detainees coming from Auschwitz and Buchenwald.
Abstract: Also included are two lists of detainees from Giessen, who either died in Theresienstadt, or who were taken to Poland for forced labor and probably passed away there.
