Abstract:
Memoir about the life of pioneers in the 19th century, mainly in Santa Fe.
Abstract:
One paragraph tells how Abraham’s wife and two accompanying nuns met Billy the Kid during a trip. Further on the memoir narrates the conflicts between Abraham Staab and his children. It also includes the story how the mother of the author, a daughter of Abraham Staab, led her life until she married the father of the author. The memoir includes several pictures: one showing Bertha Staab, daughter of Abraham, together with members of the Wallace Club in Santa Fe. This picture was published in April 1966 in the “Santa Fe New Mexican”. One picture shows Abraham Staab, calling him a “wealthy Santa Fe merchant”. Together with this picture comes a short text about Abraham Staab's life. The next picture shows the residence of the Staabs at Palace Avenue, made in 1885. The last one presents the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff. Finally there are two family trees: One short list of the children of Abraham and Julia Staab, nee Schuster. The second shows the family tree of the Schuster family, starting with David Schuster, born 1763.
