Abstract:
The memoir starts in the year 1932, right before Hitler's gain of power in Germany. In the following, Brigitte Steiner heavily comments on the political situation in Germany that affected them so directly, being confronted with anti-Semitism and her husband's loss of employment. The memoir ends in the year 1935, the year of her family's emigration from Germany.
