Abstract:
Kritische Textedition und umfassende Einführung in Bubers Romanerzählung Gog und Magog. Die Romanerzählung Gog und Magog (hebräisch 1943, deutsch 1949) basiert auf einer Kontroverse zwischen zwei chassidischen Schulen vor dem Hintergrund der Napoleonischen Kriege und den damit einhergehenden messianischen Hoffnungen unter den osteuropäischen Juden. Die Erzählung kann als Aussage Bubers zur politischen Theologie gelesen werden, sowohl innerhalb des Judentums (und zwar im Zionismus) wie auch darüber hinaus.
