Abstract:
Martin Heidegger und Ernst Jünger zählen noch immer zu den meist diskutierten deutschen Intellektuellen des 20. Jahrhunderts. Daniel Morat untersucht erstmals detailliert und auf umfangreicher Quellenbasis die Einzelheiten ihrer intellektuellen Beziehung. Daß er auch den weniger bekannten Friedrich Georg Jünger in die Betrachtung aufnimmt und dessen zentrale Rolle im intellektuellen Austausch zwischen Heidegger und den beiden Brüdern Jünger herausarbeitet, schließt eine Wahrnehmungslücke. Der Fokus der Untersuchung liegt auf der Bedeutung, die der politische und philosophische Radikalismus der 1920er und frühen 1930er Jahre und das zeitweilige nationalsozialistische Engagement für die weitere Entwicklung Heideggers und der Brüder Jünger hatte. Dabei zeigt sich, daß ihre Spätphilosophie der »Gelassenheit« als Reaktion auf ihre nationalistische und nationalsozialistische Vergangenheit und den Voluntarismus der »Tat« verstanden werden kann.
