Abstract:
Juvena, Venus, Goldfisch - die Geschichte der Bademode wurde maßgeblich in Chemnitz geschrieben. Zahlreiche Pioniere der Bademodenindustrie kamen aus Chemnitz und Umgebung und erlangten mit ihren Marken und ihren Werbekampagnen deutschlandweite Bekanntheit. Viele dieser Unternehmen gehörten jüdischen Familien. Jürgen Nitsche begibt sich auf die Spuren ihrer Mode, ihrer Firmen und der Badekultur in Chemnitz und der Region. Im Mittelpunkt stehen dabei die jüdischen Unternehmerfamilien Goeritz, Fischer und Franck, die mit ihren Schutzmarken "Venus", "Goldfisch" und "Juvena" die Welt der Bademode in Deutschland und darüber hinaus eroberten. Sie waren oftmals ihrer Zeit voraus, indem sie frühzeitig auf moderne Werbung setzten. So gewannen die Brüder Goeritz namhafte Reklamekünstler (z. B. Walter Trier), Maler (z. B. Joseph Oppenheimer), Schriftsteller (z. B. Joachim Ringelnatz) und Fotografen, um ihre Waren landesweit bekannt zu machen. Die Familie Franck setzte auf Preisrätsel und warb mit prominenten Persönlichkeiten, wie z. B. Leni Riefenstahl, und bekannten Models für ihre Mode.
