Abstract:
Several plays were written in German between 1933-1945, by Jews and non-Jews from German-speaking countries, depicting the Jewish experience, past and contemporary (the plots deal with Jews in the Middle Ages up to the Holocaust), all of them relating in one way or another to antisemitism. A survey of fourteen of them, twelve of them by writers in exile, is presented here.
