Abstract:
This memoir was written by Ken Baumann in 1977 for the Leo Baeck Institute in New York. He describes his youth, education, and his work at the opera in Berlin. The bulk of the manuscript deals with the history of the Kulturbund Deutscher Juden. He immigrated to the United States in 1939.
