Abstract:
Zusammenfassung: Memoirs of a Belzer hasid from Krakow who during the Holocaust went through Tarnow, the ghetto of Bochnia, the labor camp Rakowice, Slovakia, Hungary, and Transylvania. Describes the liquidation of the Jews in Bochnia and Tarnow in 1942-43. Relates the activities of a mixed Polish-Jewish underground organization in Prokocim, on the Polish-Slovakian border, which organized the flight of Polish Jews to Slovakia and Hungary, and provided them with forged documents. Describes the situation in Hungary in 1944, especially in Budapest and Satmar (Satu Mare), a center of Hungarian hasidism((From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism))
