Kurzfassung:
Analyzes the echoes of the Dreyfus Affair in Switzerland, stating that although it incited a general debate at the time, it did not leave much of a trace afterwards. Studies the anti- and pro-Dreyfus articles in the Swiss press (e.g. "Journal de Genève", "Gazette de Lausanne", "Basler Nachrichten", "La Liberté"), concluding that French-speaking Switzerland passionately followed the Affair, while the German-speaking part was only a spectator. Argues that public opinion was mainly pro-Dreyfus, but that Catholic-conservative and also radical groups were anti-Dreyfusard and antisemitic, and spread accusations of a Jewish conspiracy.
Anmerkung:
On antisemitic articles which appeared in the Swiss press, 1895-96.
