Abstract:
An empirical analysis of Jews who received a PhD in the United States between 1950-2004, identified by the Distinctive Jewish Name Technique (DJN), and also by gender (i.e. the number of men vs. the number of women). Examines, as well, the trends in employment of Jews during that period as college and university teachers.
