Abstract:
Advocates for the psychoanalytical approaches of Freud and Reik to Jewish-Christian relations, rather than the religious-psychological approach expressed in studies which focus on antisemitism and claim that devout Christians are more antisemitic than non-religious gentiles. Freud explained antisemitism as hostility directed toward the Jews because they are outsiders. Reik explained antisemitism in terms of his theory of primary narcissism.
